주택의 장단점
주택에 살게 된지 만 1년이 되었다. 평생을 아파트에서만 살아 본 내가 주택에 살아보고 느낀 점.
<장점>
1. 층간 소음
청소기를 세게 돌려도 무거운 물건을 떨어뜨려도 바로 밑이 남의 집이 아닌 땅이라 걱정 없고 땅에 닿은 집과 내가 하나 된 느낌.
2. 창밖의 자연
앞마당에 소철나무와 향나무 뒷마당에 넝쿨과 감나무 두 그루는 내내 잎을 떨구고 감이 열리며 자연과 계절을 알려준다.
3. 상징성
집 자체가 하나의 상징성을 지닌다. 나의 일과 하나 된 느낌이고 동네의 풍경에 오롯한 존재로 표현된다.
4. 개성
아파트처럼 편리하지는 않지만 구조적으로 통일된 것이 아닌 나만의 라이프스타일에 맞춰 개성 있는 공간.
<단점>
1. 일이 많다
청소도 오래 걸리고 쓰레기 버리는 곳도 멀어서 번거롭고 겨울철엔 기름보일러라 수시로 확인해서 기름을 채워줘야 한다. 여기저기 못 박고 걸 일도 많아서 드릴 사용법 숙지 필수.
지붕 보수, 마당 쓸기, 풀 정리, 마루 닦기 등은 옵션
2. 경비원이 없다
그래서 사설 경비업체를 월 구독으로 이용 중이고 관리비 개념으로 여긴다.
3. 의도치 않은 손님
안에 있으면 없는 척할 수도 없고 담이 낮고 대문이 없어 드나듦이 자유로워 불쑥 오는 손님이 곤란하다. 미리 약속 하고 찾는 분만 환영한다.
어떤 취향이나 목적, 방향을 갖느냐에 따라 선택과 방식의 차이가 있고 정답은 없는 것 같다.
